Winter seed sowing in milk jugs can be an easy and very cost-effective way to grow native plants directly from seed. When growing from seed, some native seeds require a process called stratification in order to germinate and grow. Sowing them in milk jugs in the winter fulfills that needed stratification process, and you will have plants ready to plant in the spring!
